jor Thanks, Vic. This Suburban was my son's and now I have it back so I thought I'd play around with it a bit.

vicrod Connect (1) lead of the remote start button to the S terminal on the starter solenoid. A purple wire will be connected to the S terminal and is on the block side of the solenoid.
The solenoid is located on the starter itself.

Connect the other lead to the battery + terminal.

Remote Start

I want to do a compression check on my 87 Suburban (everything stock, 350, automatic, 4wd) but I'm not sure how to hook up my remote starter. I usually work on older stuff like my Ford pickups. Anyhow, my remote starter is the common kind with two leads. On my Fords, I put one on the hot battery terminal and the other on my starter solenoid. Here's a photo of my remote starter. Thanks.
