Stroker56 I'm thinking of taking everything out of the cluster and making up a backing plate, chrome it and install the Autometer "Lunar" speedo and tach in the original bezel .The Lunar set needs 3\38 hole to mount and not sure what the finish size is which includes the outter ring. So would probably need to trim some stock from the inner opening of the bezel.

Like the attached crude rendering

Don't giggle ...I don't claim to good at anything

poncho62 Maybe these gauge restoration links will help, or do you want to go to digital gauges?

Love the 55-57 CHEVYS

56 chev sedan dash upgrade

I recently came across either a post or maybe when I was looking though the project journals a few photos and comments from someone upgrading their dash in a 56 Chev sedan . Photos showed how you were cutting the dash bezel to fit the new gauges .... 4 " I believe.

I cannot find the topic again . If this rings a bell with anyone please come forward
I am very interested in doing the same with mine
