I may need to blast my engine to prep for paint. Has anyone ever tried taking the gun and tubes from their blast cabinet and putting it in a bucket to blast outside?
I only need to do this one so I hate to buy a rig for this.
Other suggestions?
Any ideas to remove the rust over the exhaust ports?
Wire wheels maybe?
Yes You Can Take Your Blast Cabinet Gun And Hoses And Put Them In A Bucket, But I Hope Your Going To Take Engine Apart As Sand Will Enter Any And All Openings In Engine. A Friend Of Mine Did His And Thought He Had Everything Taped And Sealed, When We Pulled Valve Covers, Sand Was All Over Inside. So If You Do This Beware Of Sand Inside Motor. It Does Terrible Things To A Motor. A Wire Brush Will Clean Off Rust. Paint Those Areas With A Good High Temp Primer First Then Your Engine Paint.
