The tank sits back almost touching the spreader bar ...
I believe my tank is only 4 inches or so from the 9 inch Ford rear end ...but I have not measured it.

On a original 32 Ford 3W coupe ... the body has a recess stamped into it ... to clear the fuel neck ... and a Model A is a shorter body ...

gas tank

I'm in the process of converting my 29 ford tudor to a rod I'm using a 32 frame and 32 tank tthe problem is the tank sets to far from the back of the body Ive seen other 29s with a 32 tank and thiers is much tighter than mine. the tank is app.4'' away from the differential any help>
