|weirdbeard||Do you have an adjustable push rod going into the master cylinder? Sounds like its pushing to far into the master cylinder. Just a thought..|

|Tony@AirRideTech||if it is still spongy you still have air in there chances are..... on the second hand it could be a bad rebuilt part which really in my opinion sounds about right if it starts hard then eases up. That is probably the fluid getting around the pistion at certain location in the cylinder. Not to be a smart *** but I think your life or the people you might hit are worth more than the 75.00 bucks you saved. Some items are not the ideal candidates to buy rebuilts of. Remember that they can not remanufacturer loose tolerance in cases like this. I learned this lesson on a Bosch starter for a Ford F350 Diesel....|

hmm.... in the preview post it showed my sig that i had....
its and '86 chevy c10 disc/drum setup.
the rebuilt mc was $35 and the new one was $110ish .... big difference.
yeah i'm gonna go try to bleed them again tonight to be sure

NEVER buy rebuilt brake parts, except brake shoes, when NEW is available.
What kind of truck, what kind of brakes?
It really sounds like a bleeding problem.

i'm trying to get my truck road worthy again so i can enjoy it a little bit
this past weeks its been about the brakes.
i needed a new master cylinder, so i bought one, bled it, installed it, and bled the rest of the lines correctly.
the problem i'm having now, is the pedal is firm until its about halfway pressed, then it gets much softer and spongy. the brakes "work" but the dont work well. i can slam on them and not even come close to locking up the wheels.
i'm sure there isnt any more air in the lines(bled it 3 times now) i'm thinking its either a problem with the combination valve or the rebuilt master cylinder.
