1955 step side

Im building my old 1955 step side Big window with my son, I have just purchased a 327 from a friend who claimed it was out of a early Vett. when I get back from Iraq i plan on getting heavily started in the complete resoration and build of nthis fine american hot rod.
i like to think i can repair anything and have worked on cars my entire life but this will be the first engine i have actulay rebuilt form the bottom up. Of course any guidance would be appreciated.
As far as the truck we plan on a hot rod orange sngle stage acrylic enamel, the interior a leather tan or buckskin with some classic rolls. The frame will be origional except for the Fat man IFS and updated braking system.
I have owned this truck since the early 80s when i was early hotroder, and with all the new technoligy and parts availabe i can visualize this project becoming a drivable show quality hot rod.. thanks.. Archi
