I have a 1988 suburban with a the stock tbi motor. I swapped the intake and tbi out for a edelbrock intake and a edelbrock 650 carb and a HEI distributor from an 85 blazer.

I cant get it to even start I don't know what fire ring order to use so I'm not sure if the wires are run rite.

Thanks hope to here back,

James

1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 is the order
pull # 1 plug. Put a finger in the hole. Havea helper just bump the key until you feel the air presure blowing your finger out.

Bring up the timing mark by rotating the engine by hand, you can use a socket on the damper bolt.

when the mark is on 0 drop the distributor in so the rotor points at # 1 on the cap. This should be between 5 and 7 oclock. Check the order of the rest of the wires and fire it up. Pay close attention to # 5 and #7 cylinders as they are easily confused.
