This is exactly how Oldsmobile did it with the factory fiberglass hoods on the 70-72 W-30 cars. Steel under frame bonded to the fiberglass outer skin. You will still need to use lighter springs on the hood hinges, however.

302 Z28 The way I would do it to get an old Nova hood and de-skin it. Then use Evercoat Vette bond adhesive to attach the glass hood to the metal frame.

nova hood skin - how to attach to framing

I scored a nice 2 inch fiberglass cowl hood for my 72 nova for free, but its just the skin. No framing underneath.

How do I go about getting it attach to some framing? Make my own somehow? Do they sell only the fiberglass framing? Use a old nova hood and remove the metal skin and attach with fiberglass paste?
