need posi info

I have confirmed it is a dana 44. should be a 19 spline, but I haven't opened it up yet to confirm.
I know I will need the posi unit, also new ring and pinion and new bearings, seals etc. Wondered if I also needed a new carrier, and anything else.

richard stewart 3rd Hi,
I don't know about the first question.
To change from open to posi, requires
a clutch & spider unit (posi unit) to replace the spider arrangement
I guess you'll need to contact Dana & find out
what that rear is, & if there is a posi unit for it.
Good luck,

need posi rear end info

I have a rear end from a 55 Stude. Supposed to be a dana 44.
stamped uspat 201818 has a metal tag 43/13 (331 gears).
Shape and bolt pattern looks like a dana. can anyone confirm?
Next - what does it take to convert to a posi traction?
