Hey guys,

I think I'm just being paranoid, but here's the deal. Couple weeks ago I was going through ebay looking for heads for my stroker. I found this guy who's selling dart IE heads cheap (obviously a machine shop guy who buys the bare heads and assembles them to make a buck). So I email him because the heads I want aren't on ebay (72cc chambers, not the 64cc). He says: yeah I can sell those to you, give me a call, we just don't do the 72's on ebay, not enough people buy them for us to run the auctions. Fair enough, I call the guy, lay down like 8 bills for heads with Manley valves, guideplates and arp studs and he says that he has to get them from dart, he should be getting a whole slew of them next week. Fine.

Anyway, that was on the 18th of may, and its been more than a couple of weeks now. He indicated that I'd (probably) have my heads by now and that UPS would send me a tracking number, I haven't heard anything.

Emailed him friday, no response.
Emailed him again today, waiting.

I went through his track-record on Ebay and its really good. He has about 6000+ responses, a few negatives about damaged parts and slow or no communication (probably what I'm experiencing).

Should I be worried or am I just jumping the gun on this? I figure if I don't hear anything by beginning or middle of next week I'm going to start getting upset and doing something.

What do y'all think? Think his name on Ebay is dirttrackkm. Guy's name is Nathan. Seemed cool on the phone...

I used a credit card. I always do, that way if its fraudulent, I can go through my CC company and claim that the money was stolen from me (which it was if the product never arrives).

The guy is probably just busy, was going to email me Friday buy forgot, then he totally forgot about it over the weekend. I'll try calling him in a few days. On one hand I don't want to be an annoying customer, but on the other, I want to know damed sure where my 850 bucks are!

Know what I mean? I think this guy could improve on his communication skills, it takes literally like 10 seconds to let me know that things are going good and that the stuff is moving-

I bought my Scat crank from Dirttrackthunder. I got it off their website and not eBay though. They had the best price going at the time ($189.00).

well I emailed him today, common email eduquite is 24 hours for a reply. If I don't get an email by the time I get off work tomorrow I'll call him (he's an hour behind me, so I'll get off at 4pm his time).

He could be off for a couple of days too, come to think of it.
I'll let you know what he says-

... ok man what the hell is the deal...

Guys-

So I called this guy last week on wednesday or thursday and he said he had the castings in, and that his machinist would have them done AND SHIPPED by friday or monday. Said he didn't answer my emails because his email was down last week (.... sounds like an excuse to me...). Well I was hoping to finish my build this weekend, drop this thing in next weekend and this guy is really cutting into myschedule. Its now been about a couple days shy of a month on this thing and I just emailed him again. 800 bucks is a big deal to me and I need to know everything is on the up and up here, and I keep getting the run around. I mean, fine, if the heads are going to take a month, tell me that from the get go, don't tell me two weeks and then not contact me, then tell me a couple days and not contact me for another week and a half, you know?

What do you guys think is going on?

Sales 101 would tell a person that they should always under-promise and then over-perform. Sounds like this guy has his heart in the right place, but didn't take things into account like procurement time, other operations in front of yours, the actual work itself, etc. If any one of these operations got held up for any reason, he is not going to be able to meet his schedule. I deal with sales people every day in my line of work and this really isn't an uncommon thing. They want the business, but they take too much on at one time and then their performance starts to suffer.

Killer.... Sounds to me like you have cut your time too close. I have problems regularly where someone tells me that they are shipping something and we should have it in a few days. Unfortunately, at best, you can control your own schedule. You cannot control someone else's schedule. If he had to waut to get the things from someone else, he most likely coundn't control the delivery time to him.

We regularly order parts "overnighted", just to get them in 3 or 4 days.

I found them to be total *****. I do not like paying 'handling fees', I'll pay shipping, packaging, but damm if I'll pay a wage for a store to send something.I don't tip grocer or bank clerks for doing their job.
Anyway I took exception to Dirts handling fees,no reply from them, so left negative feedback.Instead of trying to resolve all they did was try and threaten and insult, like that will work on me. Cisco

I know the former owner of this Dirtrackthunder.com and he never woould have treated people like this. He had merged with Midwest Motorsports and then later sold his share of the business and Dirtrackthunder.com to another Machine shop and they use the name and take calls. The original owner of Dirttrackthunder.com sells under a new name on Ebay and has a site as well i just forgot who it is.
