|jordan2011||It has 175,000 miles. When I first got the car, the fuel pump was out, so I replaced that, fuel filter, air filter, plugs, & wires.|

Hello Jordan I noticed the 2011 in your screen name? does that mean that you're 16? How do you drive, aggressively or conservatively?

|jordan2011||I checked it, and the car is getting about 25mpg, I know people that have cavaliers, with the same motor and tranny, everything, and they are both getting around 34.|

|xxllmm4||you need to fill it, drive it and see what your millage actually is before you go any further. Could just be a bad gauge or sensor.|

|weirdbeard||Are you sure your not spewing fuel out on the ground somewhere? Thats terrible for fuel economy.|

2000 Sunfire Horrible gas mileage, and erratic gas gauge
I have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, it runs great. I noticed that the gas gauge, would always move about in about a one inch radius, would drop and raise erraticly. I put 3/4 of a tank in it yesterday, drove about 75miles, and it had dropped to 1/4 of a tank. I have noticed that it didnt seem to be getting very good gas mileage, but didnt really think anything of it, until this. I just had the fuel pump replaced when I got it, as it was completely out. Any help, would be greatly appreciated. thanks! BTW, it is a 2.2 Automatic.
