jordan2011 It has 175,000 miles. When I first got the car, the fuel pump was out, so I replaced that, fuel filter, air filter, plugs, & wires.

Chevrolet4x4s Hello Jordan I noticed the 2011 in your screen name? does that mean that you're 16? How do you drive, aggressively or conservatively?

jordan2011 I checked it, and the car is getting about 25mpg, I know people that have cavaliers, with the same motor and tranny, everything, and they are both getting around 34.

xxllmm4 you need to fill it, drive it and see what your millage actually is before you go any further. Could just be a bad gauge or sensor.

2000 Sunfire Horrible gas mileage, and erratic gas gauge

I have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, it runs great. I noticed that the gas gauge, would always move about in about a one inch radius, would drop and raise erraticly. I put 3/4 of a tank in it yesterday, drove about 75miles, and it had dropped to 1/4 of a tank. I have noticed that it didnt seem to be getting very good gas mileage, but didnt really think anything of it, until this. I just had the fuel pump replaced when I got it, as it was completely out. Any help, would be greatly appreciated. thanks! BTW, it is a 2.2 Automatic.
