Good addition! I forgot that they can stick open too. Seen lots of them back in the day.

Jmark It won't be rich, atleast not enough to notice, but you may find the engine more prone to pinging than before.

SBCfan04 thanks..if the EGR valve is bad can that make a engine run rich or anything?

richard stewart 3rd Hi,
EGR = exhaust gas recirculation valve.
It's used to allow a portion of the exhaust gases to be routed back
into the combustion chamber to be re-burnt,
resulting in lower emissions & a cooler more complete burn.
