hi all new day question ive a 383 ive newly built good bottom end 250 260250 555 LIFT FLAT TAPPET SOLID PORTED FUELIS VIC JNR 750 VAC ROLLER ROCKERS 1-78 EXTRACTORS CURVED DISSY MORE BUT CANT THINK.NOW ITS MAKING 400 HP NOT SURE OF TORQUE ACTUALLY IN A 66 PONTIAC WITH T400 4000 CONVERTER 336 DIFF MADE 240 KILOWATS AT WHEELS MY PROB IS IM NOT VERY HAPPY AS I BUILT IT TO MAKE BIT MORE THAN THAT I WILL ADMIT THE DYNO MAN SAID THE CONVERTER SLIP IN HIS MIND IM LOSING (AT LEAST)40 KW AT WHEELS COULD SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME A RUN DOWN ON 383 HORSE POWER AT THIS SORT OF BUILD.THE BORE IS .040 ASWELL COMP 10.5.1.IVE JUST BOUGHT A ROLLERCAM PACK 260@50 650 LIFT CANT REMEMBER AT 20 100 ETC SPECS AND AM NOW LOOKING AT FR 210CC ALUIMINIUM HEADS BUT I FEEL I REALLY SHOULDNT HAVE TO THAT THIS MOTOR SHOULD BE MORE THAN IS SORRY FOR RAMBLING ON JUST WOULD LIKE SOME EXPERIENCED KNOWLEDGE AS THIS IS MY FIRST ENGINE CAR BUILD SO THANKS HOPE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE SOON..
What's with all the CAPITAL letters? And please try to use some sort of punctuation in your sentences. I can't read this. Don't know where 1 sentence starts or ends.
With the fuelie heads(I think thats what you meant)400 rear wheel hp is pretty dang good any more is probably going to require a head swap.The cam if I read the numbers correctly is caspable of 500 to 550 fly wheel hp.
yea sorry it was 240 kilowatts at rear wheels,(im unsure of hp not sure of right conversion) with lots of slipping thru (converter or tranny),do you think the 210 afr cnc heads and rollercam will ad a great deal of hp.Also ive just bought full msd ignition 6al etc..hoping maybe bit of difference and maybe looking at getting 750 or 850 mechanical carb thanks. :sweat:
