Alright Guys and Gals looks like we have an Art Contest for September! The Masses have spoken...and it has been decided to hack up a "Big Truck" this time! Any year, any style, any make, as long as it is a big hauler!
Rules are as stated:
1. One contest per month with 4-5 days poll at the end
2. The subject car or truck is the one to be rodded
3. The winner chooses the subject for the next round
4. The winner gains one point on the scoreboard
5. Polls are open to all forum members of Hotrodders
6. Contestants may not vote on their own entry
7. Each contestant may submit an unlimited number of entries
The leader board will be updated shortly!
There has been a prize donated for this contest. I would like to thank Jon for his generous offer of a Hotrodders "T" shirt for the winner!
The Contest will end the 27th (Saturday) and voting will end September 30th !
Good luck all and have fun...I have a feeling this will be a good one!
I couldn't do this rod justice with my weak photoshopping skills but thought I'd pass along this picture in the hopes it might inspire the more skilled members to do "big rig" in rod style. This was at the Half Moon Bay show a number of HR.Com members attended this past April. Check out that axle and suicide front end!
You guys may have talked me into "rough-handing" that KB 5. Then I'll need to figure out how to scan it in. Or have my wife do that....
Of course, that will depend on how far I get on building a scale kit of the USS Arizona for the local Navy Club branch. I just wish there were more hours in the day....
The idea I have to turn my 58 Apache 1 ton into a tribute to big rigs.
Picture the one in my avatar as black, lowered in front, aluminum dually wheels, running lights, chrome stacks running verticle behind the cab, maybe chrome horns on top? The bed will likely be a flat bed with finished wood and polished stainless.
I picture an Apache Warrior in full war head dress on the door. Flames on the hood.
Maybe someone will be inspired to help me realize my plans in a picture here?
I got a cheap acrylic paint set the other day, thought Id put them to use on "Diamond T in the Rough" Very rough but had fun doing it! Acrylic on canvas. 8.5 x 11. More to follow!
I'll submit my daily ride for this one, just to see what someone might come up with. I can take more if needed, and don't have any shots of the rear already uploaded yet but can if someone wants them.
Hey all, I was playin around and came up with this..But then I went back and actually read the rules....Do we have to use the subject vehicle that was in the second post (the red one)? Or are we just doing any big truck that we'd like? Either way, I figured I'd share this beast...Does anyone remember what show this came from? (Just a little TV trivia)

You know I had that question in my head all night, no I didn't see anything in the filename it comes up as an attachment in the preview cause I thought it would be bigger, but I remember now it was BJ and the bear, mid 80's or around the same time of the bionic woman and shows like that, may have even been earlier. I love trivia, lol.
BJ and the Bear, Billy Joe Mckay and his pet chimpanzee named Bear, driving around the USA in a late '70's Kenworth K-100 Aerodyne, they had somewhere between 5 and 12 trucks in all made for the show which ran from 1979-1981.
