I am planning on building my 1st street rod. The StreetBeast kit's look interesting. Anyone have any experience/references with these? Thanks. Don

Hey, thanks, and no decision on paint. It will be two tone candy color on top, silver on bottom. I just can't decide on the upper color, if it will get graphic, etc.

I agree, this gets confusing at times, but it is very entertaining too.

Do a photo shop or simply take a nice picture of the cars side and blow it up to 8x10 or bigger and color it with felt pens or something. You really need to SEE what you are going to do. Or of course find a similar car with similar paint to check out. But cutting a car in two with color does some super strange eye tricks. Darker colors "shrink" what they are painted on. So you can end up with the bottom of the car "growing" out of proportion with the top if you paint the bottom silver and top a darker color.

Be careful!

I'll update the wiki article with the latest drama on the Marc Goldberg issue, and link up that cached photobucket page. Maybe add a short "timeline" on events in this thread?

To clarify what Centerline was saying -- the political posts were deleted from this thread, not wiped from the board. You can find them in Off-Topic and the Dump. We've also been discussing in the mod forum how we might be doing this more often as "political season" is upon us, at least for those in the United States.

You know, I rarely tell a member of this board that they are full of horse dung, but buddy.....YOU ARE!

I can smell it on every one of your posts.... and you know what??? It has the same stench as posts from Streetbeastoptsdope and Grumpa Cobra. We can only hope you will dry up and blow away. Sooner rather than later please.

They wouldn't per chance be seeking counsel from Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe, would they?

In a while, Chet.

In business, the only way to silence critics, is to listen to what they say and make changes in your business plan. The changes that need to be addressed, are quality, and sales tactics, according to these 'critics'.

For a company to 'threat' with Lawyers, makes no sense to me. You cannot stop "negative talk", by suing a web master, or anyone else for that matter. Close this thread, and another one will 'pop up somewhere else, if there is not another one already. You will not be able to stop the 'negative' talk about any business with 'inaction' in your own business plan, no way and no how. :nono:

So that being said. Do you think the present economy might have something to do with the sales losses? Mine has, and I believe it has to do with the cost of living increases.

Rant over,

Stephen

I can see the headlines now...

Dateline NBC Special Report.

In a unique twist in American justice a large US company was fined 50 million dollars today after 5 years of lawsuits and legal wrangling that can only be described in the words of Judge Thomas as

"As a result of shameful and despicable actions by the senior members of this corporation (StreetBeasts Inc.) in an obvious attempt to violate and desicrate one of the foundations of the constitution of this country I am awarding the defendants and codefendants of this case (hotrodders.com and its indicted members) 50 million dollars in restitution and damages in an attempt to stem the tide of frivoulous lawsuits that have held this nation hostage over many years. I am hoping that corporate America will sit up and take notice that legal bullying regarding the inalienable right of this nations citizens to exercise its legal right to communicate freely without fear of prosecution will be heeded in the future and that the courts will not tolerate harassment of its citizens by the deep pockets of corporations such as this."

In passing down his decision Judge Thomas mentioned that the American justice sytem has been flooded with large corporations attempting to stifle free speech amongst the citizenry, this flagrant abuse of the US Legal system has not been punished to date to spare the average consumer the costs of such litigation.

It is believed that this case was singled out as a demonstration case since it is a closely held corporation and has limited shareholders to bear the costs of the decision.

Recently NBC has contacted StreetBeasts Inc for an interview or comment and was given this reply;

"Streetbeasts Inc will continue to supply product to its consumers at the lowest cost, in pursuing this commitment we will be moving our entire operations south of the border to Mexico to continue to meet our customer expectations."

It is believed that the move was designed to avoid payment to the defendants of the case, the attorney general has taken over the prosecution of the decision due to special circumstances and to ensure the American people can continue to place its trust in the Constitution of the United States.

In the light of the recent decision one of the members of the internet community Hotrodders.com, FourJawChuck was quoted as saying;

"Another one bites the dust!" :welcome:

I am NOT an attorney..but I do have a professional experience in these issues.

The most negative and potentially libelous posts are those by Streetbeast (self admitted or discovered )personnel (or "ex-employee :rolleyes: ).
The characterization of sales practices, shoddy workmanship, the interference with competitors sales, are all actionable, and admitted to in these posts.

In the course of the "research" I think the tort damage is actually of these posters. The comments made after the inciting comments are in response to statements..response to fictitious posters with known IPs.

Further, my understanding is, you commit slander or libel, with FALSE statements. It is not libel to post a court document, a adjudicated settlement, or factual incident.

A company or person that posts libelous statements about ITSELF and attempts to claim to be harmed would be very..very foolish.

It will be interesting to see if this is just blowhard BS..or true stupidity..

Its BS and stupidity. Do a simple search on the net and you will find similar threads like this on may other car sites. They are not going to sue anybody...they do not have any grounds ,and they should know that and their lawyers certainly should know it.
