McSweene I'm a little confused; my question was about the motor mounts; the Olds trans comes with the engine. My question was about motor mounts for the Olds 455 - to replace a SB Chevy and 700R4 trans. Are you saying the motor mounts on the 455 and the Chevy SB are the same?

Thanks!

Oldsdiesel I've swapped out a Chevy 4.3 V6 in my 93'Chevrolet Cheyenne K-1500 pickup and I repowered it with a 5.7 litre diesel V8 designed by Oldsmobile. The Olds 455 has the same engine mounts as the 350 diesel. The Chevy 350 has the same engine mounts as those found on the 6.2 diesel, but they are totally different than those found on the oldsmobile diesel or even the olds 455.You will need an adapter plate for the olds engine to fasten to the chevy trans. It was'nt too hard at all to change over.I had to get the exhaust custom made though.

Chevy SB to Olds BB conversion

Anyone ever replace a chevy sb with an olds, buick or pontiac BB (76 Olds 455)? I was told by a demo derby guy the motor mounts are different, but are the same ones used for all diesel GM engines. I've looked at a lot of parts sites and their all geared to putting a sb into an S-10. I want to put it in a full sized pickup. Just occurred to me... should ask Mr. Goodwrench, huh? :o

Still, I'd like to hear from anyone who's survived such a scheme. No computers of FI involved...

Thanks!
