Soul_Hunter i always toss the valley seals, if i had any i would send them to you.

i haven't use the valley seals in a very long time for 2 reasons.
first, when the silicone is applied right, it works better & lasts longer.
second reason, if the heads have been surfaced, the valley seals can keep the intake from sealing to the heads properly.

FELPRO ends - Not the rubber ones!

The felpro ends are made of cork, but have sticky underside to them, that you have to peel off protective layer before you stick it onto front/back of block ...

I have used it 2-3 times now, and never had a slip or leak yet ..... so until I do, I am "sticking" to it!

speedydeedy GM stopped using the gaskets so I don't use them either. I have a brand new set from MR GASKET ultra seal part # 5820.I won't be using the ends.If you want them you can have them. They are the type with the lip that hangs over on both sides not the ones with the pins that fit in the holes.Let me know if you want them and I will mail them to you.

Because(in my opinion) it works better.

Most of the manufactures must think so also as they package a small tube of RTV instead of the gaskets.

Same here. Laquer thinner works great!

Tomard I will probably have to end up doing that, but since I had good fortune with it, and MANY seem to not want to use them, I thought I'd ask ....

carsavvycook i refuse to rummage through the trash.

If I was 'building' one, that was going to be "Auctioned" off, through "Barret's per say, It would have to have the "factory" gaskets. If it leaks, who cares, I don't.

Use a 1/4" bead of Permatex Ultra Black silicone, on the front and rear, of the intake manifold end areas. 'Dabbing' it into the corners that meet the cylinder head.

I like to use "gaskacinch" for the rest of the intake.

Rant over
