solidaxel Thanks,
I am hoping for the push rod jumped out of the lifter.
What is the chances of straightning the push rod and reusing it, until I can find some new ones, are they all the same length?

CNC-Dude When pushrod bent, lifter could have jumped out of lifter bore! Very common on engines that were running at RPM when pushrod bent....also lifter could be broken as well!

va4cqd which inline 6 are you asking about?

Chevy Inline 6

Engine was missing checked electrical found O K
checked carb found O K
checked compression found 5 O K !!!
Removed valve cover and found one push rod bent. reason for miss O K
Now for the question straightened out the push rod and dropped it back in the head and it went all the way into the head flush with the boss, have not removed the inspection cover yet. what am I going to find???
the 2 cylinders beyond the bent push rod were still working, good compression. I am thinking a flat cam or a busted lifter, is that possible I mean the busted lifter?
Would someone please take a photo of a Chevy 6 cylinder with the inspection cover removed so I can see the lifter galley, as I will not be able to get back to it for a few days.

Thanks for your help
