samurai41 I use the 3m blue fine line tape for any and all lines that need a clean crisp edge. I wouldn't use anything else to mask out your stripes. Your base shouldn't pull up if the primer is properly prepped. However you can get tape residue transfer on the base if you pull too tight of an angle. i

BMM 3M fineline, Ive never had a problem with. The green stuff is not so strechty, so it works great for straight lines. The blue stuff is strecthable for curves, corners etc.

302 Z28 3M "Fineline" tape will return a super sharp line, lifts easily, and goes around corners great. If you can't find it then any high quality auto grade masking tape will suffice. When removing it pull it back onto itself rather that straight up. Do not be tempted to use store brand masking tape .

Fast Eddie D Well, if you look at the p-sheet it will have a "to tape" time... there you are.

Old guy's tip- tape the tape to your shirt or pants first, then tape the basecoat. It won't stick as well that way.

Remove the tape as soon as the stripes tack up.
