got them machined and pressed in today went 10 thousand he said it was a real tihgt fit could have gone 5 -8 and been alright just gladto have it done

thanks guys the reason I ask was right now the hole and the ball joint are 30 thousands differrence no one would press it said to big of a difference my buddy is a machinist and thought 10 thousand was right but wanted it verified before he opened up the hole for me and pressed them in

aosborn Don't be afraid to put a little heat on the a-arm before pressing the ball joint in. Even warming the a-arm in the oven a while will help if you don't want to damage paint with a torch. Chilling the joint helps too...

I need to know what is the tollreance or clearance for a balljoint example I have a hole in a tubular a arm for the ball joint to press into how many thousands do I want for a press fit between the joint and the hole ball joint has knurles thanks
