|31fordcoupe||Thanks Ferg. I checked out the purplesage website you referred me to. Lot of good information on there.|

|Fergusonic||I am preparing for the same swap. In addition: The coolant lines are very close to the same position (hopefully the thread size will be the same). Driveshaft Yoke should be the same. Lockup Torque Convertor should mount to Flex Plate same as TH350 Convertor. Dipstick and tube are different. Rear mount is the same. If you are using a Lokar shifter; Lokar has an Adapter Kit that will convert the TH350 Shifter to the 700R4 so that detent, mounting, & rod will all work properly. It's not advertized but they have 'em for about $85.|

|Fergusonic||700r4 is longer than a TH350 short; so the driveshaft will have to be re-sized. Trans mount will have to be repositioned by a couple of inches. Geometry on carb for TV cable is critical; google purplesage700r4 or TVmadeez (tvsystem101). If you have a speedo; it may require a different gear in the tranny.|

As long as the 700R4's are built to handle the torque that shouldn't be a problem.

If I am switching from a T350 in my Roadster to a 700r4, what modifications will I have to make in order to make it happen? I know very little about the 700's other than they have a lower first gear and the OD. I am buying an aftermarket 700 that is supposedly rated to 500 HP. It will be a SBC tunnel ram set up with 4.11 gears.
The second project is a 31 Coupe with a BBC. I am contemplating going with a 700 instead of the T400. Anyone else out there running a 700r4 behind a BBC that is making about 500 HP with 4.11 gears?
Would love to hear any feedback / suggestions on the benefits of the 350 vs. 700 or 400 vs. 700 for both builds. Both cars are being built to be cruisers with some track time. Potentially will hit the road for long cruises so that is the primary reason I am looking at the 700r4. Thanks.
