|ericnova72||There are also forged externally balanced cranks available. What actual crank do you have right now? Maybe keep it, have the rods resized(they probably need it anyway) and use KB forged. They now make a nice forged piston. Might even get lucky and the piston weights are close enough to the same and you won't have to spend money rebalancing.|

Iv'e done searches and cannot find the exact answer so here goes. On a 383sbc I have figured out forged cranks are internally balanced, but for a hot street car with max rpms 5500-6000 do I need a forged crank? I want to go with forged rods and pistons for durability. I currently have eagle SIR I beam and KB hyper and lost no 5 due to improper ring gap I believe. I would love to retain my crank with new rod/piston combo, that way I can keep flywheel and current balancer, is this possible?
