57halfton Wow I would have figured they were all the same . One thing that comes to mind is your flywheel , 396 is internally balanced a 454 is externally balanced , make sure you use the proper flywheel, it's a easy mistake to make , alot of people have done it and wiped out all the bearings in a very short time.

redride Thanks for the info. I had been told that a big block and small block were not the same. I have one on order now.

cobalt327 If the price for one is like 4X what the other one is, one's a roller, other's a bushing.

If you've got a micrometer, mic the ones at the part store. One of them should be close to the Jegs dimensions I gave you.

Haven't put a roller bearing in a crank, but it sure helps a lot when installing the bronze one if you put it in the freezer overnight... shrinks it enough that it goes in a lot easier.

jimfulco Ask them if one's a bushing and one's a roller bearing.

dlc1979 I believe that all Chevy pilot bearings/bushings are the same size, whether SB or BB.

Jegs lists them: OD = 1.093, ID = .591, Length = .750, P/N 60105.
