I prefer the Chevy SB. It is shorter, narower, and I belive lighter than the ford SB. Parts are cheaper and their is greater interchange ability. Truth is you can make anything fit. It is just a matter of how much work you want to do. Chevy SB, Easy! Chrystler Hemmi, Hard (but doable).

I have a 1935 Ford humpback with a Ford 302 installed. Installation is very clean and functional. I suggest you pay a lot of attention to the driver side steering linkage--a very tight area, that will require lot of thought on how best to position the steering assembly and not interfere with the exhaust and frame.

nova sub frame in 35 ford humpback
Recently acquired a 35 humpback with a nova subframe. Natural inclinations are to jump at the first GM small block donor car that looks good for drive train. I am wondering however, what others would be fairly compatible, such as a mopar 440, or 5.0 ford. If anyone has done such a project, I am wondering about clearance problems etc. you might know of. I have done a couple swaps, stuffed a 413 into a 41 master deluxe coupe few years back, so I can probably handle this unless there are serious compatibility problems with the subframe clearance. Any input would be appreciated.
