I currently have an edelbrock 2976 victor 4+4 intake and an edelbrock 1405 600cfm carburetor on my rebuilt 350 w/ 270 cam and 3.73 posi in the rear. But i'm not liking my performance and people are saying things dont match up. So what intake and carb would you put on him?
In answer to your question, a dual plane intake manifold would work best with your combination.
Personally I would run the Edelbrock Carb, and order a Tune-up kit for it. They are much better suited for the street, and you can switch to the Holley for runs at the track.
Your 'gear' change is going to help your performance, but combined with the intake manifold change, it will be much improved.
The Victor 4x4 is a big miss-match in your case. It is a larger plenum version of the Victor Jr and was listed for use on large cubic inch SBC's such as 383, 406 and bigger and has a listed rpm range of 4000-8000. It confuses people with the 4x4 name because it doesn't mean it was meant for 4-wheeler use. This was one of Edelbrock's biggest manifolds prior to the Super Victor, so you can see why it is not right for your engine combo. A Performer RPM or Wieand Stealth would be right for you.
The carb is spot-on. 600 cfm is perfect. A holley or Qjet might help drivability and performance a bit, but not enough that I suggest you change since you already have something that works.
I agree on the intake. Big mismatch. Performer or Performer RPM would be great.
lol i believed u but I was asking for intake/carb combo that fits the rear more this time. its the same question kind of but i was referring more to the rear end this time because i heard that 3.73 is for the long runs as opposed to 4.11's and stuff.

This is why I have always said, and done, build the engine to the rear gear.
Your intake will not work with that gear, or your stock gear. It needs to be on a engine that is capable of very high rev's, to be efficient. In my book Holley Carbs are in the same league.

I get ya- I'm just yankin' your chain- good natured fun, is all.
But the 600 w/a dual plane like the Stealth or RPM will still be Oh-tay w/3.73's. Later if you use more cam, heads and CR, a bigger carb might be needed.

what do you all think of an edelbrock rpm air gap going in it?
