75gmck25 The best coolers are the Long Low Pressure Drop (LPD) stacked plate coolers. They are effective, and very reasonably priced. If you are racing, get the biggest Long LPD cooler that will fit (like the 4590) and mount it securely with the metal brackets they provide. They also have the Tru-Cool Max with even more cooling capacity, but I've never used one of them.

Transmission cooler size question

I need to cool a TH-350 street strip tranny with a 383 stroker behind it. I've been all over Summit and I'm just scratching my head. There are Plate type, tube and fin type GVW ratings???? It's going in an 80 El Camino, can anyone give me some advice on what they use and what works well? BTW I'm in NC so summers are brutal!
