leaking head studs

I just fired up my 454 with a 8-71 blower for the first time and here's what happened. It sounds mean as hell but I had to shut it down after about 2 minutes or less because the jet coated headers started glowing red. so I pulled a plug and it appears to be too rich.(black in color)I'm a little upset that I didn't do a correct cam breakin but theres nothing I can do without jets. Heres my real concern. I noticed that my head studs are seeping coolant. when I installed them I used ARP racing thread sealant, which to me apears to be glorified teflon pipe dope. I kept telling myself to use RTV , since the studs penetrate the water jacket. I'm hoping someone has a succesful solution, other than tearing this fully detailed engine back down.

I had the same problem. Drain the rad&block.
pull the covers off and started with #1 stud and pull each one out seperatly in tightning order and redo it with Black high silicone(ONLY ON THREADS). Had to drop the headers back to get at the lower studs.
It realy dont take long to do. Less than a days work. Double nut the stud to R&R it.
LOL
