We started a trivia thread over at another forum and it has been a lot of fun.
Here are the ground rules. It starts with one question. The first reply with the right answer gets the floor for a new question. It continues like that unless, A) the person who has the floor doesn't ask a new question, or B) no one gets the correct answer. In that case, the person with the floor asks a new question. No more than one question on the floor at a time, and discussion/clarification is welcome until the floor is taken over by a new question.
First question: In the 1952 Indy 500, what type of fuel was burned in the record-setting pole-position #28 car? Hint: it won pole position by a full 4 mph over the second-place Ferrari
I think I have it figured out. I have noticed that when the weather is good, hardly no one is on here. Maybe there is a correlation. Maybe we could use it to detect weather patterns?
Hi Bryan,
I can't see enough of the grill, but I'll keep looking, Buick has been my favorite car forever.

PS The grill resembles a 51 Buick what I can see of it.

You guys have it all wrong! These aren't head lamp bezels, they are beer tabs off of Paul Bunion beer cans. Each can of Paul Bunion beer holds 16 gallons. I mean come on, get real.

Over in England there was only two wheel manufacturers that made wheels and they were both under contract with the big automobile producers. If they sold wheels to any of the other car manufacturers they were under the risk of loosing their contract and possibly being sued. There was a loop hole in the contract that enabled them to sell shipments of three. So Morgan, designed his car around the wheels that he could obtain.
And if you believe that I have some ocean front property in Arizona.
The real answer is this:
The three-wheeler came about because of Britain's taxation policy. For decades, a car with three wheels, and weighing less than 850 pounds, was taxed as a motorcycle at just 4 quid per year.

When did Chevrolet go to a fully pressurized lube oil system in their 'stovebolt' 6 and in what specific case was it first used?
A second part, how were these non-pressurized lube oil system engines lubricated??
I had forgotten exactly why and when it was introduced but Wikipedia did remind me - and yes I did remember approximately from actually working on these engines, but wasn't totally sure of the year.
I gotta say .... neither is close. No cigar here :nono:
