DoubleVision The Ventures were a big influence on the Ramones. Especially guitarist Johnny Ramone as he played a Mosrite Ventures model.

cobalt327 No one who has heard "Telstar" will ever forget it. I still own the original mono of The Ventures Play...

The album cover below (not mine) kind of shows that they were "one of us".

They are an Icon. RIP, Bob Bogle.

weirdbeard The Ventures were/are a huge influence on today's (surf) music.. What a cool band.

Glad he made something that will outlast him.. What a great accomplishment.

Custom10 That music is timeless. Sorry to hear about his passing. What year was that released? I instantly recognized the tune but never knew who recorded it. I have recently rebuilt an old stereo console with a tube amp and a fully auto Garrard turntable. That album is now on my shopping list....how much Bogie?

Bob Bogle passes

Guitar legend Bob Bogle of the Ventures has passed away last night. My world keeps getting smaller, seems like only yesterday I stopped in a record shop and bought the Walk Don't Run album. I've carried that album all over the world and still have it nearly 50 years later.

Looks rather corny today, but it once was as hip as you could get.
