High volume oem suppliers have a rotating head bender in line with the automated tubing welding machinery. material starts as sheet on a 4 ft diameter roll and is formed into tubing and welded and bent all in one continous in line process. there is about a 5 story high loop between the last stage welding and forming dies and the bender since the flow thru the bender is a stop and go process and the tubing welder is constant speed.
That is a really cool machine. i've seen a smaller one like this run and they have it turned down alot in the video. the one i saw was spitting the things out way faster. They have a machine shop show in Chicago once a year and they have a whole lot of way cool things like this. it's really something to see and way worth the trip. takes like 2 days just to go threw it all.
oh and on the price probably a whole lot less that what you would have paid for it about 2 years ago machines prices r really down right now. a new small haas Mill is going for about $24,000 where about 2 years ago you couldn't touch it for under $35,000. Of course i wouldn't buy a haas any way they r not that good too many plastic and aluminum pieces but if your in the market!
Now the beer and pliers that is something my husband could do LOL.
hahaha... yeah something Miky made....they were supossed to be straight but he was out parting all night. You should see the hammer the old man threw at him.
