I just bought a used Hunter System 700 electronic balancer. This one even came with the user's manual and parts list. It appears to date from the 1980s (the manual cover has a picture of a Ford Fairmont). Unfortunately, the manual has nothing on calibration. Is anyone familiar with the calibration requirements or process for this unit? Thanks.

Hunter 700 cal

Thanks oldcpecdr. I appreciate it very much. Have been going through the manual and trying to perform the Pre-Calibration Check, it says to place the Static/Dynamic switch in the Override position. This machine has Dynamic, Static, and Test. I assume that test is the override position, but I am not sure as it only reads on the upper display and we are looking for both upper and lower to read zero! So I tried again in Dynamic and in fact both upper and lower read zero. Then on to the Calibration itself, and I do not have the 278 gram calibration weight (P/N 65-27-2). Is this something that is still available or am I reaching to far back for this perticular piece of equiptment?
Thanks again

Ok, got what is supposed to be a 278 gram calibration weight from the local hunter rep. I was at lunch when he came so I did not get to quiz him!!! If anyone else on here has had any luck calibrating one of these machines, please chime in. I have removed the wheel mounting plate and see no where on this machine that would allow me to screw this calibration weight on. Also as I have mentioned before this machine does not have the override position, it has a test position. On the Pre-Calibration check. Exactely what is the cone adapter? And what is the "bell housing". Picture would have been very helpful in the manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Calibration

If anyone has sucessfully calibrated one of these machines, can you please email me and help me to get mine sucessfully calibrated? I still can not figure out exactely where to screw on the 278 gram calibration weight on the bellhousing or which part is the bellhousing! Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.
