what problems do you have?

If you bolted the converter to the flex plate first , then bolted the trans to the engine, you most likely broke the pump in the trans.

NEVER bolt a converter tot he flex plate first ,then bolt up the transmission.

Never ever listen to that person again. That told you to leave the converter hooked to flexplate. They may have even said it because the converter bolts are hard to get to. But all you do is remove the starter to get at em. Most likely the pump in the trans crashed, once the engine was started.

There is many factors to consider. To try to educate someone on the pump replacement. It may look like there is only 7 bolts holding it to the trans. But its pretty involved work. The pump may actually be able to be repaired. By putting a new rotor kit in it. But one also has to inspect it and know what they are looking at, to make it a verified repair. Otherwise, just buying a new/reman pump may cost more than a used transmission.
