i have an 04 chevy p/u 2 wheel drive 1/2 ton. is there anyway to install the torque 180 degrees out of wack so it would not allow fluid to reach the inside of the converter? i having trouble reinstalling the transmission and making it work? i was told to leave the converter on flywheel and install transmission on to it ?... please help me.....

Never ever listen to that person again. That told you to leave the converter hooked to flexplate. They may have even said it because the converter bolts are hard to get to. But all you do is remove the starter to get at em. Most likely the pump in the trans crashed, once the engine was started.
There is many factors to consider. To try to educate someone on the pump replacement. It may look like there is only 7 bolts holding it to the trans. But its pretty involved work. The pump may actually be able to be repaired. By putting a new rotor kit in it. But one also has to inspect it and know what they are looking at, to make it a verified repair. Otherwise, just buying a new/reman pump may cost more than a used transmission.
