|sherman8r||you can run a wet sump but i think you had a good point about how long it could take me to build. guess i should just stay on track with what i got. would have been nice to have a dart iron eagle block though. thanks for you r advise|

I suspect that since you are asking.. and it has taken 8 months to get your current 406/8 to where it is now that the dart block may have to sit and wait a year or two at least for you to get all the "extras" it needs.
Personally I wouldn't trade, if it came down to making more power than your 408 potential I would just step up to a BBC.... unless you have some class rules that would make a BBC dis-advantageous or illegal.

|ericnova72||Which Dart Iron Eagle block??, there are several variations and some don't take stock location parts like timing set, and cover due to raised cam location, spread pan rails, tall deck, dry sump only oiling, etc.|

Need advise for trade. 408 short block for dart iron eagle block
I found a guy who wants to trade his 04 iron eagle block (still in engine bag) for my 408 sbc bottom end with stock crank and 5.7 rods zero decked with flat tops as well as my isky mega cam and lifters and oh yea my b&b 7 quart pan and meling select oil system. I have been waiting to run this motor for 8 months and now this deal came along and i'm torn on doing burn outs in the spring or still building in the spring but at least with a bad *** block. what do you guy's think
