77bronco_ed I have been following a build that really makes me sweat... Want to do something similar but would like to tub the rear, more of a pro street look.
I love this truck

Without the top it doesn't look much like a truck at all... The fellow that owns this, I believe he should be driving it by now...

77bronco_ed Have any of you guys used the crown vic suspension?

I'll need to start taking some dimensions in order to narrow down some of the options.

Unfortunately not. These are the only other construction pics I have of the '32 that are even close to showing the front suspension. But the logistics of the Twin I-Beam are all pretty much the same. So the builds in the other two journals I linked above should give you a pretty good idea of what you would be dealing with.

77bronco_ed My apologies, I should have mentioned that I like the bagged 32 pickup set up... Have any build pics of that one?

Unless I did not look close enough to find em.

I'm not sure what you mean. The above are both twin I-beam builds and the link I provided is a Ford twin I-beam build. Was there something specific you had in mind that isn't pictured at that link?

Here is another twin I-beam build...which is under my roadster.

77bronco_ed Thank you for the suggestions... I'll definitely take a look at the step by step process.

cboy You might want to consider a Ford twin I-beam IFS. Here's the one under my '32 pickup which was done with air bags.

And the one under my '29 sedan delivery which was done with quarter elliptical leaf springs.

I've never done one in a Bronco frame so I don't know what special problems you might encounter...but it might be worth a look as long as you are considering all options at this point. I don't know how helpful it might be, but you can click here for the step by step description, with pictures, of how the sedan delivery suspension was done. I prefer the beams from around '78 and '79 because they look like a traditional forged straight axle. But other years may be used as well.

front suspension options for ford pick up street rod

Hello all,

Considering a early Bronco street rod project.
I have seen folks convert and use Mustang II type suspensions.

What other options are being used for Ford pickup trucks 2wd type Street rods? Just wondering if I can locate a 2wd pickup, and utilize the front axle? I need to get rid of dana 44 that is currently on the truck and turn it into 2wd.

radius arm, coil spring options?
straight axle?
mustang II
