vinyl paint remover

I am sure I accidentally sprayed brake cleaner on a new painted interior panel and it removed the paint with no damage.

I am not saying it is the best, but I came out alright.

DanTwoLakes The vinyl paint is supposed to bond with the vinyl, so it's not a question of getting it off, it's a question of coloring over it.

I have a steering wheel that was painted with vht vinyl paint.
Any tips on how to remove the paint?

The guy I got it from said he just cleaned it with simple green and sprayed it.
He said he did not sand it or anything.
