unstable that is not-excellent, most non-triumphant, and most of all bogus...It was probably around the time that everyone could get their hands on a standard flaring kit that they switched over to metric. weak.

ericnova72 That is what is called the metric bubble flare, or maybe metric ISO flare, I can't remember which its called at the moment. They will not seal if you re-flare to 45 or 37 flare unless you also change whatever fitting they screw into to match the new flare type.

Your current fitting makes a double seal, to the bottom of the step at the fitting and at the top of the step to the nut.

On Fuel lines...

-Had a gas leak.
-Lines looked really nasty as did the filter.
-Dropped tank.
-Decided to replace lines while I have access to them.

Removed steel lines from fuel filter and flexible steel line to hard-steel line to bypass/tank...said fittings look like this:

For some stupid reason I was expecting 45 degree flares...
The fuel system is TBI.

Can I use regular steel line and put a 45 degree flare on it and will it hold or do I need to do something else? This existing system had o-ring and other crap...maaaan.

suggestions? I really don't want to pay $50 million dollars for these stupid steel lines and have to wait a week to get them.
