Gettig ready to do a complete rewiring of my 1936 Ford Sedan running a HT383 SBC w/air and 700-R4 auto trans. How about some recommendations on which wiring harness/kit to get.... Ron Francis, Painless. American Wire, etc., etc. Want to use a really good quality kit that is easy to install. Please let me know your experiences with these products. Appreciate the assistance. Thanks, Rick

I have seen examples of both the Painless kit and Ron Francis kit installed. I will be installing the Ron Francis kit in my 34 3W. It's not that I see any thing wrong with the Painless kit, it's just I think the Ron Francis kit is a better design that offers more options and is more flexible. Painless is a good system, but they appear to use surplus OEM fuse panels. Really nothing wrong with that, unless you see how someone else does it.

I have used the kit from EZ Wirring kit on several cars with great results. It has everything the others do, and at a much lower price. It is marked every 6" and color coded, with 3rd break light, horn, back up, fan, tack, fuel pump, ect. all there. I guess I sound like a fan of this product.

I have used both the Ron Francis and the EZ Wire kits. Both are good quality units. I installed the Ron Francis unit in the late 80's and still have it in the street rod and the only problem that I had was with some tech support. I have installed 2 or 3 of the EZ wire units in the last year and a half and I really like them. They are marked every few inches just like the Ron Francis kits and can be had in anything from a 12 to 21 circuit. Plus they cost about half of what a Ron Francis unit does. My 2 cents worth.
