10.5-1 would be fine on a 460 using(non-CA)93 or
94 octane gas.The engine combo sounds fine as you aren't overcarbing it.Good luck.

|mustang66maniac||I've heard people going as high as 10.5:1 compression on california pump gas (91). As for the ignition MSD would be the way to go. I have the 6A and it works wonders. Maybe i would recommend the 6AL because of the adjustable rev limiter so you wont blow up all your hard work.|

sounds great to me!!! i would not raise the compreshion any if you want to use pump gas. and as for the ignition, i would use an msd 6, msd coil, and an msd billet distributor.

I have a 1970 Mustang and I am going to put a 460 into it with a C-6 Tranny and
Headers built by Krate Automotive (fit specifically for my car). I will be using the Weiand tunnel ram intake w/2 450 Holley's, timing
gears, 292 size cam, melling H/V oil pump, electric water pump, probably a 3000
stall torque converter, a mini-spooled 383-9" rearend, and stock heads. I want
it driveable on the street but ready for the strip when needed. I am ready to
get this project on the road but I don't want to throw my money away on
something that won't run proper. I will be running 10:1 compression unless you
think that I can go more (I want to be able to use high octane pump gas). I
also have no real idea what type of ignition to put on it. I was thinking
something from DUI or MSD but I don't know what. Your input will be very much
appreciated. Thanks a lot.
