First, what year firebird are you working on?
Second, it sounds like you don't have the power/ignition connector plugged into the distributor. There should be a two wire plug to hook up to the distributor, look for it. The other connection on the dist. is for a tachometer.
If you have an early model firebird (late 60's or early 70's) It won't have a connector for the HEI as it was a point type dist. You might want to use the original point type or convert the harness to HEI.
Until we find out what year your working on, the fuel delivery problem will have to wait for further information.

350 wont start, no spark, no fuel, look at pics.
Just put a 350 chevy in my firebird. I can't get the damn thing started now. It's not getting any spark at the plugs, and the fuel system wont prime after i've tried to start it about 15 times. So i took the top of the carb off, (q-jet) and filled it manually with fuel. Now I need to know why there's no spark. It's the HEI type. There's a 3 wire plug thing coming off the distributer that i honestly don't remember being there so i don;t know if that has anything to do with it but i'm gonna blame it for my problems. Anyone know what could be th problem?
