|MRTS33||If the hoses were rusted through I would not trust the hard lines either. You'll probably destroy the lines replacing the hoses any way. They will haunt you if you don't. Why not replace everything to new 100% and have piece of mind. Just my.02.|

|southernculture||Well last night I pulled out the wheel cylinder and it was rusted shut. I tried to blow out the rubber line and it was rusted thru also. The hard lines were good. I ordered 2 rubber lines but I should have all done except install the rubber lines and bleeding the brakes done today!|

I am doing the same thing with my Rambler, and I am ending up changing EVERYTHING. After looking at it all, it is getting a new master cylinder, hoses, shoes, all wheel cylinders, I am not screwing around with this, it will all be new.
You need to look into your master cylinders condition before you do your wheel cylinders. You don't want to have a corroded up master cylinder pushing junk out thru the lines into your new wheel cylinders do you?
Start with the master, fill it with fluid and flush out all the old fluid in the lines out thru the bleeders in the old wheel cylinders. Clear it all out until nice clean fluid is coming out the bleeders. THEN do the wheel cylinders.

|southernculture||OH I definately havent driven this thing since the test drive She is nestled in the garage. I got 4 wheel cyl and hardware and new shoes for this thing. I am gonna try and tackle it sat or maybe tomorrow after work. I would be so upset if I crashed it.|

When it comes to brakes....EVERYTHING should be fixed first. You say the pedal is frozen? Disconnect it from the pushrod, is it still frozen? If so, its simple then....pull it apart, clean up the corrosion or whatever and put it back together.
IF, though, the disconnected pedal moves freely, then check the movement of the pushrod into the cylinder. I'd believe the master cylinder is far more likely to be frozen up than would be the pedal. If so, replace it.
Has this thing been sitting for a long time? If so, and corrosion has frozen either the pedal OR the cylinder, then the whole system needs serious inspection before you decide to go out and crash it through a guardrail.
Brakes are no place to take chances.

1972 nova drum brakes
Good news, I got to drive my nova, bad news is my brakes dont work. My pedal is frozen it wont go down at all. I am wondering what I should try to repair first as far as the brakes go.
