454C10 when you put n02 in the equation these things change.

sure a 434 will run much better than a 355 without n02. but when you plan to use no2 then it is easy to surpass the safe limits for a stock block even with a 350.

Furthermore, NO2 also build torque. In fact, it typically builds more torque than hp.

Here is a nice 350 with NO2 article. 500hp and 584 ftlbs with a little 100 shot. I bet a 200 shot would get it to 600hp and 700ftlbs.

so, building a 434 will allow you to run less n02 than a 350 to reach the same power level.

PRO 48 fleetline The torque is the bigggg differance in this equation the 434 would feel like a big block that will wind like a small block with right heads and cam in it!
This isnt even close.

454C10 like I said, I would try to limit it to 600hp on a stock gm block. Maybe 650 but that is about it. This goes for a 355 or a 434.

get to 600hp with any combo of engine hp + no2: 300hp build with a 300 shot to a 500hp build with a 100 shot. your choice.

A mild 300hp build will have better street manors but will not be fast without n02.

crowerjunky guess i didnt think about the heads part i would take the 434 just because it would make more overall but i do have a 355 in a book making 900hp on nitrous an thats not to bad for a 355 ---all this said what is the best a 434 can do on nitrous

454C10 first thing to consider are the heads.

stock smogger sbc head will max out about 400 hp no matter what size engine is under them. The difference will be the bigger engine will make the max hp sooner (more torque).

so, I would rather have a 355 with a good set of heads than a 434 with a scrappy stock set.

The next thing to consider is the strength of the block. I would limit the max hp on a stock block to 600hp. so neither build a 500hp 434 with a 100 shot or a 450 hp 355 with a 150 shot. The results will be very similar at the track.

The advantage the 355 would have is the cost to build and slightly lower piston speed at the same rpm.

Your question is an oxymoron. It would be VERY different builds to get the same power level out of those two VERY different motors, unless you just use nitrous to get the 355 up to the 434 power level. A 125~150 shot will make more power on a 434 than it will on a 355, cubic inches rule.

sqzbox Same power, same driveline, same weight, The best driver wins!
I've wooped many car's that should have beat me only because the other guy didn't have his poop together!

That's what bracket racing in the AHRA used to be like.

crowerjunky no joke i was just thinking the 355 has a short stroke so it might have some advantage an yes i know cubic inches rules but i dont use nitrous an have no experience with so you got to ask an i did say making same power

DoubleVision Is this a joke? You can`t beat cubic inches.
