Jim Weeks I would contact MSD ignition. Chances are you are not the only one haveing this trouble and they may know how to fix it.

4 Jaw Chuck You can move the distributor rotor shaft one tooth over to get more adjustment range, just make sure to rotate the pump shaft enough so the distributor will seat.

FASTFORD i just met a retired ford mech and racer. he says a 429/460 thermostat housing will fit! he also thinks there may be one from the 351m. i hope he`s correct. he also said if you wind the 351c over 6000 rpm regularly, install the oil restricters in the valley, run a baffled oil pan and crank scraper.this will save the rod & main bearings. keep us posted if you find what works and what doesnt as i`m looking to rebuild my "c" in the next year or so. tight budgets are no fun!!!

FastGo FastFord and Gordon, thanks for your help. As I said, sourcing parts for this engine is no cake walk. My friend, NeedToSpeed is also building a 460 Ford bigblock for his '48 F-100. Parts for that monster are a different case. Anything he wants for the 460 is just a phone call away. We'll call the 800 number tomorrow and see if we get lucky. Are we having fun or what?
Thanks again, Fastgo

FASTFORD i looked for the same thing approximately 2 years ago. no luck. could not find anything that interchanges with the 351c. if i was told correctly and i could find no info otherwise, the 351c is the only one that does not run coolant through the intake manifold. you will have to fab one to suit you.
good luck with it ,clevelands rock!

FastGo Thanks for trying to help. My friend and I know we can fabricate a housing but were trying for an easier fix. This engine is all appearance. He's bolted on every chrome or billet item he can buy!
We thought someone might know of a supplier who sells a stocked part that will work. If it's not chrome, he'd get it chromed. Keep in mind, he has Ford on the brain. I look past that fault and try to help where I can. I hooked him on the Rodding hobby, it's my task to keep him hooked. In his past, he raced Volkswagons! Even Ford's are a step in the right direction. Thanks again, Fastgo

critter I aint much of a Ford person, but did you look at other engines for the housing? I believe that there is some interchangeability here. also, have you thought about fabricatin your own? just some ideas.....good luck

Can anyone give me the name of a supplier that sells a 45 degree thermostat housing for a 351 Cleveland? We're running a MSD distributor and don't have full movement to vary timing, using the stock thermostat housing. We've tried PAW, Summit, and others. Any ideas will help...

Love Chevys, helping a buddy build a Ford..
