68NovaSS Check out ZOOPS, they have an adjustable PS low mount I used on my blower SBC, it allows you to adjust in or out.

Billet Specialties might have something as well.

My thoughts were, if you have to modify a bracket, a short WP-type bracket would be easier to work with than the long bracket that relies on other brackets that mount to the front of the head in order to mount the pump.

If that bracket on ebay will work (ask the guy for the specifics on it- maybe a photo of it mounted to an engine), then it would be a way to go.

Here is an article that may help- http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te...ets/index.html

You are looking for a "short water pump" type bracket. They were used on '68-back cars ('Vette till '70) and trucks from '72-back.

cobalt327 You may end up modifying a stock bracket to work. The brackets are strong, but the welds added also have to be as strong if you cut and weld them.

DoubleVision Since we used to run camel back heads without accessory holes we had to get creative on making brackets so they didn`t break. One side mounted to the header, the other to the water pump, we made a piece of curved metal that went from the water pump to the upper most bolt hole in the PS bracket.
The bracket on Ebay is used for 69 and later pumps which uses the head as a mounting point. pre 1969 used the brackets without head accessory holes.
In the cases where we didn`t have time to make a custom piece, all I did was use a bolt with a shouldered head, and a large flat washer to assure all the clamping force as possible was placed on the pump and that always worked as well. I would also used shouldered bolts on the exhaust mounting side.

power steering bracket

Alright my power steering bracket seems to have b roke on both ends and is barely hanging on. I have a 75 350 with a long water pump and need some ideas on a strong affordable power steering bracket that will mount without the use of the head accessory holes. The one on there was stock and mounted to the water pump and to the headers with some rigged up stuff i did. That obviously was not stong enough lol. heres one i was looking at but im not sure where it mounts. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SBC-C...Q5fAccessories
