Well TODAY (9 / 25 /10 ) IS our last day of "old timers" racing here in oregon. Our car is a 39 chevy 2 dr "trunk back" w /a 72 250 / 194 head holley yf reman carb hei ign / light cam. Small(?) problem w / loading up at idle (idle only) and aquestion to the community as to plugs / gap & heat rtange! I think we're just missing something (small) and would REALLY appreciate ANY advice. Right now we're runnin ac 44s @ .035 (strong) and "I" don't like em! HELP !!

Might want to try AC R44TS gaped at .040. The .035 is too small and the R44TS's have an extended electrode and insulator that will extend farther into the chamber exposing more of the spark to the A/F mixture. The R44's are recessed much like an R45T and shroud the spark.
