Have a 350 55 ChevyTruck where my 16" pancake radiator fan burned out (was a fan from a Geo Metro MP80124? or 6? A). Can someone please give me the basics of how to spec out a replacement? Straight or curved blades, CFU requirements, Amp draw, etc. Went to a speed shop they just gave me a universal fan with no spec information so I don't think I should just go on "looks-the-same." Thanks.
I ran a 55 Chevy CAMEO pickup with a 454/450 HORSEPOWER Big Block Chevrolet for 4 or 5 years with a mechanical fan. I live in the HOT, HUMID South and I drove the 55 as my daily driver. Never had a cooling problem.
Chevrolet built many thousands of Big Block equipped vehicles with a mechanical belt driven fan.
PS ... I HATE electric fans ... and will NOT use one on any of my builds.
Sunsetdart - thanks for the reply on the 350 HotRod Radiator Fan Motor, much appreciated. TJ2TONE24
