pop rivet look

here is today's progress on the pop rivet look:

hotwheels1 Well i decided i wanted a pop rivet look on the box, kind of make it stand out on it's own. I went and bought 1/4" x 1" carriage bolts and nuts. Using a 17/64th drill bit, drilled holes and squared them off a bit for the bolt and then attached them. I plan on tack welding the nuts to the inside of the box frame so they wont come loose.......Here are some pics of what i have done so far today, and I am not even near complete yet, just sharing the look:

hotwheels1 Today i was able to build my tailgate and put a piece of metal across the outside bottom of the bed. For my tailgate, i used 1X2x11gauge tubing, a sheet of 14gauge diamond plate and some 1/2" inside O.D. pipe and 1/2" rod for hinges. Here is what it looks like as of today:

hotwheels1 thanks for the comments chris, i really appreciate it....The front end of the truck is done basically like a Model T with a speedway suicide front end. It has a tube axle instead of the beam. Here is a picture of the front end:

Chris Kemp Awesome! Post a pic of the front suspension, really like the stance and I would like to see how you're doing it.

hotwheels1 Here are some pictures from today's work. Ran out of welding wire, and debating on running into town. Anyways, i used some 1 1/2" 12gauge tubing for my bed rails.....
