Bench testing 2006 Envoy front power seats prior to installation in cruiser. Passenger seat works fine when "wired" to temp power source via the 12 ga. orange and black leads. The Driver's seat does not work with same wiring. Is there any jumper or special "safety" needed to be wired prior to seat working? All I want is basic forward/back, tilt etc. Any advice?
The attached drawing shows a typical power seat wiring schematic.
Notice the three motors are powered to rotate forward or reverse depending on the desired function. The relays simply reverse the electrical polarity to reverse the motor.
The drawing shows a pair of relays for each motor controlled by single pole double throw center off momentary (SPDT) switch.
Switches can be used in place of the relays but need to be rated at least 15 amps and they would be double pole double throw center off momentary (DPDT).
Thanks for the redirect to Electrical. I will do better in the future. Thanks for the advice on controls. Both seats have "little black boxes" under them. I will try to locate schematic to wire a jumper. Keep on posting!
