56 buick oil pressure

I just bought a 56 Buick Roadmaster. It hadn't been run in about 6 years. I've got it going however the oil pressure gauge indicates between normal and high pressure while the oil dipstick indicates between needing a quart and full. I think its too close to the high pressure on the dash guage.

I haven't changed the oil yet. Should I check the oil pump?

I could also use some advice on bleeding the brakes. What size wrench do I use?

Everyone prays for a lot of oil pressure...Be glad ya have it..Make sure the dipstick is correct and if so, the add what it is asking for..If it's been sitting for that long, it needs a filter and oil change immediately...The brake bleeds on cars run from 1/4 inch to 3/8...try to use a socket where you can...or at least a "line wrench"

high oil pressure

I was wrong about the oil pressure being inbetween low and high. It is just high. I'm planning on hooking on a new more specific pressure guage to the crank case. I ran some of the crankcase flush through it before I changed the oil. THe pressure stayed down while the flushing oil was in the motor, but went back up after the oil change. im using 10w-30

I did get the screws out of the brake valves and the valves loose, but I'm waiting on my buddy to help me.

The manual says to keep it between the add a quart and full. The dipstick shows add 1 and 2 quarts. Full I believe it would hold 7 quarts.... So I've got the oil level under control. Now I just need to determine if something is stopped up.
