All that's needed is a thread sealer to prevent oil from wicking up the threads and staining the intake manifold. If the threads and bolts are spotless, you can use RTV. Or Permatex #2, Permatex Form a Gasket #80018, teflon pipe thread dope, etc.

machine shop tom You have to use a locking compound on the threads of the bolts to prevent them from loosening up.

Custom10 Permatex RTV ultra black is what I have used many times, no issues, just make sure everything is very clean and that you drop the intake as straight down as possible after applying a good thick bead end rails, don't use any cork or rubber on these end rails, a stud or two will can help line up the intake, follow the torx sequence

Not sure what vortec inatke gaskets you have but the felpro MS98000T set contains the best ones IMO.

RTV for Vortec intake gaskets

With the torque so low,11lbs for the vortec heads intake manifold, what is the best RTV silicone to use? Thanks
