Because of this, there is not much demand for parts. I'm sure if you look hard enough you might find some, but I dont know.
I dont find many parts for a turbocharged gas V8 of any type, let alone a small block or even worse, a 305.

there is a whole sprint car world out there that runs 305 chevys...with the stock bore and stroke, most even run the stock length rod. all forged stuff!!
look at speedway motors and day motorsports, under the sprint car section.

Finding any good 305 pistons will probably be a challenge. Not many people build 305's.
I'd probably stroke it to a 331 and then boost it. I did play with a 305 once a while back. I also entered a bunch of info into comp cams camquest software (like desktop dyno), entering crazy stuff like 30psi boost with a big turbo (just picked one out of the list) and entered whatever valve sizes and all required info..
Came up with like 900hp lol But the mods to get that would be expensive.

"Boost" is all relative to air flow. The air flow that CANT get in is your boost reference. If your top end is efficient and flows air well you will see MORE power with less boost. What heads/cam/intake are you running, What are the specs on the heads. LOTS of things come into play when talking "boost"
Basically you should be focused on a safe horsepower amount with your engine.
You can take 2 cars and compare and see that one makes 800hp registering 10lbs of boost, and the other makes 500 registering 19lbs of boost.

turbocharging with cast cranks and hyper pistons dont mix well. Youll need forged internals if your gonna get serious.
Also most turbo engines run a dished piston to lower compression as turbo charging will definetly increase the compression when active in boost mode. Dished pistons are also helpful to keep the combustion chamber a little cooler to help with detonation.
Oh did I mention that sodium filled valves are a good Idea so they dont seize in the head after you dog the turbo on the expressway.

There are far too many unknown parts to your question- the exact set-up needs to be laid out.
Anyway, 5 psi will be too much if the tune is off, 10+ psi could be conceivably done if things were exactly spot-on.
IMO, if you are serious about running boost- use the right parts from the beginning. That way there's a bit of a safety margin when (not IF) things go wrong.
